Coral Springs Dentists Help with Cavities

Coral Springs Dentists Help with Cavities
Decaying or worn teeth can be a painful subject, but Coral Spring Dentists use several different methods to identify teeth that may need fillings.

One method for finding decaying tooth enamel that we should all be familiar with is x-rays. X-rays can detect cavities on the sides of the mouth the x-ray is taken. Unfortunately x-rays suffer from some limitations.

They often fail to show smaller decaying spots, and present fillings can sometimes block other teeth from view. It’s important to have an experienced dentist performing these checks to ensure that no cavities or portions of decay are glanced over due to these limitations.

Coral Springs Dentists look for things like discoloration to help indicate whether or not a tooth is suffering from tooth decay. One of the primary tools dentist use is a short metal probe called an explorer.

Your dentist may use an explorer to apply pressure in different areas along your teeth to test the toughness of your tooth enamel.

While healthy teeth are cover in harder tooth enamel, decayed enamel is softer and doesn’t have the same reaction to the explorer as the stronger healthy enamel would.

Another tool Coral Springs Dentists use is cavity detecting dye. Cavity detecting dye is rinsed over the teeth in question, and the dye sticks to the softer decaying enamel.

This method of detecting decay makes finding unhealthy spots easy to identify so your dentist can treat them or help point you to areas you need to focus on in caring for your teeth at home.

Did you know that cavities aren’t the only reason one might need a filling? Coral Springs Dentists perform fillings on damaged teeth on a regular basis for reasons that you may find surprising.

Using your teeth to open bottles or items around the house can cause serious damage to tooth enamel, damage serious enough to require fillings.

Common nervous habits can cause damage to your tooth enamel as well, such as grinding your teeth or biting your nails.

It’s important to watch these behaviors and to try to keep these to a minimum to avoid damaging your tooth enamel.

Brushing your teeth regularly and going to regularly scheduled cleanings is the best defense against tooth decay and cavities.

My Personal Experience at Your Coral Springs Dentistry Office

A visit to a dentist makes one anxious and start trembling immediately you step into their clinic doors. The sight of other worried dental patients does not help much. It only goes further to make you more afraid.

This however is not the case with a visit to a dentist in coral springs. I once went there with a tooth problem and the service was amazing.

Stepping into the clinic of this dentist in coral springs, I was welcomed warmly by a receptionist who had this radiant smile that almost made me forget why I first went there.
Opening my mouth to smile back, a jab of pain hit my tooth. I remembered that I had a dental problem. The clinic looked neat and lovely. It was nicely painted giving it a captivating aesthetic appeal.

I could not help looking around to catch beautiful paintings and pictures on the walls. You would have thought that the clinic was a residential house! It was tastefully decorated.
When my time came to see the dentist, the receptionist tactfully told me so. She still had this beautiful smile that would have calmed anybody anxious.

I walked to another colorful room that was the dentists operational room. Were it not for the dental instruments on the table, I would not have believed that was where my dental operation would be done.

The dentist was a fine young man who was neat and jolly-looking. He beckoned me to sit down and shook my hand firmly in greeting.

After greetings, he asked me to introduce myself and what had brought me there. This struck me as funny. I never expected dentists to be social or to be concerned about the persons of their clients.

Here was one dentist who did not see his patients as sick people but as wonderful clients. After explaining my tooth predicament, he sympathized with me and assured me that everything would be alright.

He then proceeded to explain to me the different methods that he could use to operate on my tooth. This he did with enthusiasm and in simple lay terms.

He did not try to scare me with difficult medical jargon that would only leave me baffled. He for example told me that I did not have to undergo pain in my tooth operation. He could use sedation dentistry to operate it.

Sedation dentistry, he told me is a painless dental operation that the patient is sedated to relieve them off anxiety.
With it, an operation that takes 30 minutes seems like it took a few seconds to the patient. I liked the idea and asked him to use it on me.

On examining my sore tooth, he told me that it did not have to be pulled off. He would instead fill it. The enamel had cracked open letting in air that was causing the pain I was feeling.

After sedating me, he went into action. He gently operated on me filling material in my teeth. The operation took 20 minutes but I did not notice the moving of time.

To me, I thought that the operation took a few seconds. He also did some cosmetic dentistry procedures to rectify the appearance of my teeth.

On leaving the clinic, my teeth looked whiter and brighter.

I knew deep down in my heart that this dentist in coral springs had earned a lifetime client!
